RaisLife editorial policy
How we choose sources, stay impartial, use artificial intelligence and correct errors.
Impartiality in politics
RaisLife does not support any candidate, party or campaign. In elections, every candidate and every party is treated by the same standard: the same data and presentation criteria, with no adjectives and no opinion. We do not publish content to favor or harm any side.
Candidates, parties, polling firms and press offices that spot an error can request a correction just as easily, by email at contato@raislife.com. See below, in right of reply, the deadline and the procedure.
In the poll average and in summary sentences, the candidate with the most valid votes in the average comes first; in tables, the two appear in alphabetical order of first name (Flávio Bolsonaro, then Lula). In the vote count, the candidate with the most votes comes first. The order does not indicate preference.
Sources
Results and candidacies come from the Superior Electoral Court (TSE). Election polls are included only when they have a pollster, a TSE registration, a release date and a margin of error, and each poll requires at least two different news outlets. The poll average brings together those released from the first round onward, weights each one by its number of respondents, with no adjustment for fieldwork date or for the pollster’s track record, and is a RaisLife calculation, not a registered poll and with no margin of error of its own; the same applies to the statistical-tie criterion (a gap equal to or smaller than twice the poll’s own margin of error) and to the state-by-state map, which is a simulation without interviews. When a pollster releases only the total over all respondents, we show that number first and identify the conversion to valid votes as a RaisLife calculation. The table of parties by spectrum (left, center, right) is an academic, not official, classification derived from a survey of experts; the source and criterion are in How we classify the parties. Economy and real-estate data come from IBGE, the Central Bank, CNES, the Treasury (SICONFI) and the Transparency Portal. The source appears in the text or on the page itself; when a figure could not be confirmed, it is not published.
A poll is not a forecast; a simulation is not an offer
A poll shows voting intention on a given day, with a margin of error; it does not predict the result. The mortgage simulators use average rates that banks reported to the Central Bank and do not replace the bank's simulation, offer or credit analysis. The pages for each polling firm do not replace the firm’s official release.
Artificial intelligence
We use artificial intelligence to write and update text and to generate covers and illustrations, always without real people and labeled as AI-generated images. Health content is informational and does not replace a consultation with a health professional; political coverage cites the source of each fact in the text itself.
Corrections
When a factual error is confirmed, the text is corrected and the article's update date changes. To request a correction, write to contato@raislife.com with the page address and the passage in question. We will reply by the same email. The response time is the same as in the Right of reply.
Right of reply
Any person, company or institution mentioned in or aggrieved by RaisLife content, and not only candidates, parties, coalitions and polling institutes, may request a correction or a reply by contato@raislife.com, with the subject line “Direito de resposta” (Right of reply), the page address and the passage in question. We confirm receipt of the request within 2 business days and give our answer on the correction within 2 business days after that confirmation. During an election period, we handle requests from candidates, parties and coalitions as a priority and, when the error is clear, we correct it before that deadline. The contato@raislife.com channel is monitored daily, including weekends and holidays, until the result of the runoff is announced. This is a site policy, not a deadline set by law.
A request by email does not suspend or interrupt any legal deadline. During an election period, the right of reply provided for in Law No. 9.504/1997 is requested from the Electoral Court, and the company responsible for RaisLife’s editorial content, BACKSTAY TECHNOLOGY LTDA (CNPJ, Brazil's corporate taxpayer ID, 68.588.840/0001-50), complies with whatever the court orders within the deadlines set in the decision. In the Electoral Court, a request concerning online content may be filed while the content is still online or within 3 days after its removal (Law No. 9.504/1997, art. 58, § 1, IV; TSE Resolution No. 23.608/2019, art. 32, IV); the offender has 1 day to respond and the decision is issued within 3 days. This policy does not replace the deadlines and procedures set by law or a court decision, which prevail.
For the formal request provided for in Law No. 13.188/2015 (within 60 days of publication), the correspondence must be sent, with return receipt, to BACKSTAY TECHNOLOGY LTDA, Rua Bandeira Paulista, 726, Suite 43, Itaim Bibi, São Paulo – SP, postal code (CEP) 04532-002. Email speeds up the review, but does not replace that request.
A rectification is a correction made by RaisLife itself; a reply is the text sent by the aggrieved person, which we publish when it relates to the original content and is proportional in length and prominence to the content that prompted it.
When the request is accepted, the text is corrected or receives a correction or reply note, with prominence equivalent to that of the original content and with the date of the change. The note stays in the text itself, at the top or right after the changed passage, with the date and a description of what changed, and remains online for at least as long as the content that prompted it. For a reply ordered by the Electoral Court for online content, the period set in the decision applies, and it cannot be shorter than twice the time the offending content was available. When the request is declined, we respond with our reasons.
Advertising and partner links
The site displays ads and partner links (such as the Magalu store and Amazon), through which RaisLife may earn a commission at no extra cost to buyers. Ads and partnerships do not influence what we publish and are always distinguishable from the text.
