Overall: the 27 administrations so far

Solid color: governor already elected; the color is the band of their party. Gray: still in contention in the runoff, with no party or candidate color. Select a state to open its page.

LeftBroad centerRightNo dataGray: in contention

In this chart, only governors already elected are colored, by the band of their PARTY; states still in contention are gray. Party spectrum classification: academic, not official, derived from the expert survey. The left always appears in red. Source and criterion: the band of each party is our own derivation from the expert survey by Bolognesi, Ribeiro, Codato and Silva (round of 2022, scale from 0 to 10, published in Opinião Pública, v. 31; the category is the one the authors calculated from the average weighted by the position in 2018): the authors’ “far left” and “left” become left; “center-left,” “center” and “center-right” become center (so the “center” here is wider than the authors’); “right” and “far right” become right. From Oct. 16, 2026 on, the classification has followed this rule: PSB, PDT, Rede and PV moved from the left to the center; PSD, Podemos, Agir and Democrata moved from the center to the right; the composition shown before that date differs from the current one. The number of members elected by each party did not change. This is an academic, not official, classification: neither the TSE nor the law classifies parties, and the survey is not an election poll. A party that is not in the survey, such as PRD and Missão, is left without a classification. It is not an evaluation of each elected member.

Who you follow

Search for a candidate (name, party or state) and follow them. They go on a list of your own and in the bar at the top, with no sign-up: your choice stays on this device.

    You're not following anyone yet.

    How each seat works

Rules and criteria for understanding what is being decided.

    President

A candidate wins in the first round with more than half of the valid votes (blank and null votes do not count). Without that, the top two finishers go to the runoff, and whoever gets more valid votes wins.

    4-year term; inauguration on Jan. 5, 2027.

    Governor

Same rule as for president: a majority of valid votes in the first round, or a runoff between the top two finishers, in every state and in the Federal District.

    4-year term; inauguration on Jan. 6, 2027.

    Senator

Election majority: whoever gets the most votes is elected, with no runoff. In 2026, up for election are two-thirds of the Senate: each state elects 2 senators (54 seats in total).

8-year term. Each senator has 2 alternates.

    Federal deputy

Election proportional: the votes for each party or federation determine how many seats it wins (electoral quotient), and the seats go to the top vote-getters on the list. There are 513 seats, divided among the states according to population.

Lots of votes aren't enough: the party must reach the electoral quotient. Term: 4 years.

    State and district deputy

Same proportional logic, in the state Legislative Assemblies (and in the Federal District's Legislative Chamber, where the office is district). The number of seats depends on the state's delegation in the Chamber of Deputies.

    4-year term.

    When there is a “winner”

RaisLife shows “Elected” only when the TSE itself declares it. Until then, what appears is the partial count from precincts already tallied, which can change.

Frequently asked questions about the 2026 elections

When is the 2026 election runoff?

The runoff is on Sunday, October 25, 2026.

What time does voting start and end in the runoff?

Voting began at 8:00 and, by decision of Justice Cristiano Zanin of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), was extended until 19:00, Brasília time, nationwide. Anyone already in line at 17:00 keeps the right to vote.

What time are the election results out?

Results begin to be released after 19:00, Brasília time. The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) does not set a time for the count to end: it depends on when the ballot-box tallies from each polling section arrive. This page shows the TSE numbers, updated automatically.

Who is in the presidential runoff?

Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) and Lula (PT), according to the TSE. Whoever gets the most valid votes wins.

In which states is there a gubernatorial runoff?

Based on the first-round result, there is a runoff for governor in: Acre, Amazonas, the Federal District, Espírito Santo, Rio Grande do Norte and Tocantins.

How can I follow the vote count in real time?

On this page: president and governors with TSE data, a chart of how the count has evolved, a map by state, blank votes, spoiled votes and abstentions, plus the pinned bar that keeps the results you want to follow in view as you scroll.

What are valid, blank and null votes?

Valid votes are those cast for candidates and party labels. Blank and null votes are not counted in each candidate's percentage. In the first round, abstention was 21.08% (33,469,244 voters), with 2,300,798 blank votes and 3,674,249 null votes.

What do “ballot boxes counted” and “precincts tallied” mean?

This is the share of polling stations whose tally sheets the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) has already counted. Until it reaches 100%, the result is partial and may change.

How many senators and representatives were elected in 2026?

54 senators (two-thirds of the Senate), 513 federal deputies and 1,059 state and district deputies were elected. The summary table on this page shows the breakdown by party and political spectrum.

When is the president considered elected?

When the TSE declares the result. In the runoff, the candidate with the most valid votes wins; until then, what appears is the partial count.

    Where the numbers come from

The results come from the public release files of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), at resultados.tse.jus.br. RaisLife keeps a copy and refreshes it every few seconds; if the TSE becomes unstable, the page shows the last good reading and its time. RaisLife is not an official source: the official result is the TSE's.
