Privacy Policy

In effect since September 30, 2026. Updated October 23, 2026 (game alerts and highlights).

This Policy explains how RaisLife (raislife.com) handles your personal data in accordance with Brazil's LGPD (General Data Protection Law, Law No. 13.709/2018). It complements our Terms of use.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is BACKSTAY TECHNOLOGY LTDA, CNPJ 68.588.840/0001-50, responsible for RaisLife. The data protection officer (DPO) for the processing of personal data (LGPD, Art. 41) is Fabiano Teodoro; for any matter concerning your data, contact him at the email address contato@raislife.com.

2. What data we collect and why

2.1. Browsing and cookies

When you visit the site, technical data is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies: IP address, device and browser type, pages visited, time spent on the site and where you came from. We use this data to:

  • audience statistics, with Google Analytics and Jetpack stats, to understand which content is read most and to improve the site;
  • show ads, with Google AdSense — Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can turn off personalized ads at adssettings.google.com;
  • security and performance, with Cloudflare, which protects the site against attacks and speeds up loading.

How to choose: analytics and advertising cookies come enabled when you arrive on the site, and the “Your privacy, your choices” banner appears so you can decide. There you can refuse everything (“Necessary only”) or choose what to allow (“Customize”); your choice takes effect immediately and is stored in your browser for 180 days. We also keep a record of that choice on our server, with an abbreviated IP address and your browser, for 5 years (see section 5). To change it later, tap the “Cookie preferences” button in the corner of the screen. Without your permission for ads, Google may still show non-personalized ads, without cookies.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some site features may stop working.

2.2. Blog comments

When you comment, we process your name and your email address (which is not published), the text and, if you submit them, your profile photo, any attached images and the sticker you chose, along with the date and time you accepted this Policy. Your name, photo, comment and images are shown publicly on the page. Uploaded images are re-saved by the site itself, which strips location data and other metadata from the original file. Comments are reviewed before they appear.

  • Sign in with Google: if you choose this option, we receive from Google only your name, email and profile photo. We verify the sign-in with Google, we do not create an account on the site, and we keep a copy of the photo on our server.
  • Anti-spam: the text, name, email, IP address and browser of whoever comments are analyzed by the Akismet service (Automattic) to block spam.
  • Likes: we store only the total number of likes on each comment and a non-reversible code of your IP address, for up to 1 year, to count one like per person. What you liked, and your name and email for your next comment, are kept only in your browser — you can delete them at any time.

2.3. Email sign-up

If you fill out a sign-up form, we store your first name, your email address, the date and time you accepted, the text and version of the terms you accepted, the page and source of the sign-up, your truncated IP address (the last block of the address is set to zero) and your browser type. We use this data to send the emails you asked for and to prove your consent; your name and email address are passed on to our email delivery system (from Backstay Technology). Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link; you can also ask to be removed by emailing contato@raislife.com.

2.4. Browser notifications

Notifications are optional. They start only after you tap an enable button and allow the prompt in your browser window; without that permission, we store nothing. Depending on the button you use, notifications may be: for new articles from RaisLife; for Soccer (kickoff, goals, red cards and final whistles for the teams and tournaments you choose); for Lotteries (the result of the game you choose, only for people over 18 years old and without encouraging betting); for Weather (an orange or red alert from INMET, Brazil's national weather institute, for the state capital you choose); and for the vote count of elections, when there is one. Turning on any of these alerts also turns on new-article notifications in this browser.

  • What we store: the notification address your browser generates (it identifies the browser, not you) and its encryption keys, which are needed to send notifications; your truncated IP address; your browser identification (the “user agent,” which reports the browser, its version and the operating system); the page where you turned notifications on; the date and time you did so; the topics you chose (teams, tournaments, lottery games, state capitals), along with the version of the text you saw on the Lotteries and Weather pages; and the technical delivery log (failed attempts and the date of the last notification sent). We do not store a name, email address or CPF (Brazilian taxpayer ID) with the subscription. Your browser also keeps the list of alerts you turned on in its own local storage.
  • What we use it for: solely to send the alerts you asked for. We do not use the subscription for advertising, and we do not share it with advertisers.
  • How notifications are delivered: notifications are sent through your browser's notification service: Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging, on Chrome and Android), Mozilla (Firefox), Apple (Safari) or Microsoft (Edge). The content of the notification stays encrypted from our server to your browser; these services receive the notification address and the time and size of each message. Some of them are located outside Brazil (art. 33 of Brazil's LGPD, the General Data Protection Law).
  • How to unsubscribe: the screen Manage my notifications shows what this browser receives and lets you remove or add alerts, stop only the new-article notifications (we store that choice only as a browser code and the date, for as long as the subscription exists) and turn everything off; the button on each alert cancels only that alert. The button “Turn off all notifications in this browser”button, on the Soccer, Lotteries and Weather pages, cancels new-article notifications and all alerts at once, deletes the topics you chose and removes the browser's subscription. You can also block the site's notifications in your browser settings. Once canceled, the subscription stops receiving notifications immediately.
  • How long we keep it: until you cancel. If you use “Turn off all notifications in this browser” on the Manage my notifications screen, the subscription (address, keys, abbreviated IP and browser identifier) is deleted immediately. A daily routine deletes the chosen topics of canceled subscriptions and, once 90 days have passed since sign-up, deletes the subscription if it has been canceled, revoked by the browser or has stopped working, provided it has not received any delivery in the last 12 months. An active subscription is not deleted.
  • Alert for a single game: the “Notify me about this game” request applies only to that game and is kept until the match ends. If there is an official highlights video, the request is kept until the video alert is sent, at most 24 hours after the game ends, and is then deleted. If you turn off the alert for that game, or all notifications, before then, the request is deleted immediately.
  • Legal basis: consent (art. 7, item I, of Brazil's LGPD), which you may withdraw at any time, free of charge.
  • Your rights: because the subscription carries no name or email address, we cannot locate it using those details; use the turn-off button, or block notifications in your browser. If you have any questions, write to contato@raislife.com.

2.5. Contact

If you write to us, we use the information in your message only to reply.

2.6. Data on candidates, elected officials and public agents

The pages on elections, vote counting, polls and “Acompanhe seu político” (Follow Your Politician) publish data on candidates, elected officials and public officials: name, party, office, votes, declared assets and expenses, bills and roll-call votes. The data comes from official public sources (open data from the TSE, the Chamber of Deputies, the Federal Senate, the National Treasury and the Transparency Portal) and is cited with its source and date. The purpose is to inform the public and provide transparency, as a journalistic activity in the public interest. We do not publish the names of campaign donors or personal documents or contact details. This processing complies with Art. 7, §§ 3 and 4, of the LGPD (publicly accessible data and data made manifestly public by the data subject, with due regard for the purpose, good faith and public interest of making it available), relies on legitimate interest (Art. 7, IX) in informing the public, except as to sensitive data, and, where applicable, is carried out for journalistic purposes (Art. 4, II, “a”), in which case the LGPD does not apply. Party affiliation, which is sensitive personal data (Art. 5, II), was made manifestly public by the data subject himself or herself in the candidacy registration (Art. 7, § 4) and is published for journalistic purposes (Art. 4, II, “a”), without being used for profiling or any other purpose. We publish only the data strictly necessary for that purpose (Art. 10, § 1). You may object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 18, § 2) or request correction through the same email address. To request correction, updating or clarification regarding personal data on these pages, write to the data protection officer (DPO) at contato@raislife.com, with the subject “Dados de candidato” (candidate data).

2.7. Supporter subscription (Subscribe with Google)

RaisLife offers a supporter subscription through Google's Reader Revenue Manager service (“Subscribe with Google”). It is optional: all articles remain open to everyone. Subscribers browse without ads, can comment and do not see the ad-blocker notice, as explained in the Terms of use.

  • What Google does: Google shows the offer, receives the payment, handles billing, cancellation and refunds, and stores the data of your Google Account and your payment method. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. We do not receive or store your card data.
  • What we receive from Google: Google reports to us, in aggregate form, figures such as how many subscriptions were made and their amount, and may give us the email address of subscribers who agree to share it, for customer support. In your browser, the site asks Google on each visit whether your Google Account has an active subscription, in order to turn on the benefits; we do not store that answer on our server.
  • Without a subscription, or without signing in to your Google Account: nothing changes, and the site works as it always has, without asking you to sign up.
  • Legal basis: performance of the subscription contract, at your request (art. 7, V, of Brazil's LGPD), and legitimate interest in keeping the service running (art. 7, IX).

3. Legal bases

  • Performance of a contract (art. 7, V): processing your supporter subscription (section 2.7).
  • Consent (art. 7, I): publish your comment, sign in with Google, receive emails and notifications.
  • Regular exercise of rights (art. 7, VI): keeping proof of your consent (cookie choice and email sign-up) for the period set out in section 5.
  • Legitimate interest (Art. 7, IX): audience statistics, site security, anti-spam and informing the public with official open data on candidates and elected officials (section 2.6; does not cover sensitive data).
  • Compliance with a legal obligation (art. 7, II): keep access logs, as required by Brazil's Marco Civil da Internet (Internet Civil Framework).

Where the legal basis is consent, you may withdraw it at any time, without affecting what was done before.

4. Who we share data with

We do not sell your data. It is processed by providers that help us keep the site running: Google (Analytics, AdSense, sign-in, and the supporter subscription through Reader Revenue Manager), Automattic (Jetpack and Akismet), AddToAny (share buttons), Cloudflare and Hostinger (hosting). To send notifications, we use the browsers' push services (Google, Mozilla, Apple and Microsoft), as described in section 2.4. Some of them store data outside Brazil, mainly in the United States; these transfers are carried out in accordance with art. 33 of the LGPD.

5. How long we keep data

We keep data only as long as needed for the purpose that justified collecting it. When the processing ends, the data is deleted, unless the law allows us to keep it (LGPD, arts. 15 and 16). The retention periods are:

  • Comments: for as long as the post exists, or until you ask for removal. Your email, profile photo and the date of your acceptance are kept with the comment for the same period.
  • Likes: a non-reversible code of your IP address, for up to 1 year.
  • Cookie choice: in your browser, for 180 days. On our server, the record of that choice (consent code, date, categories, policy version, abbreviated IP address and browser) is kept for 5 years, to prove your consent and to defend ourselves in any legal proceedings (LGPD, arts. 7, VI, 8, § 2, and 16, I), and is then deleted.
  • Email sign-up: until you unsubscribe. After you unsubscribe, your sign-up record (email, name, acceptance, abbreviated IP address and browser) is kept, marked as canceled, for 5 years from the date you unsubscribed, solely to prove your consent, and is then deleted.
  • Browser notifications: until you cancel or your browser invalidates the subscription. The “Turn off all notifications in this browser” button deletes the subscription and your chosen topics immediately; all other cases follow the periods in section 2.4.
  • Data on candidates, elected officials and public officeholders: for as long as it remains of public and historical interest, with the source and date kept up to date (section 2.6).
  • Messages sent to contato@raislife.com: for as long as needed to reply, and deleted once they are no longer needed.
  • Site access logs (IP address, date and time): for a minimum of 6 months, kept confidential in a controlled environment, as required by art. 15 of Brazil’s Marco Civil da Internet (Internet Civil Framework, Law No. 12.965/2014); for longer if the police or administrative authority or the Public Prosecutor’s Office so requests (art. 15, § 2). We disclose them only pursuant to a court order (art. 15, § 3).
  • Supporter subscription: RaisLife does not store payment data. What Google passes to us for customer support (such as the email address of those who agreed to share it) is kept for as long as the subscription exists and, afterwards, for the period needed to handle requests and meet legal obligations. Data held by Google follows Google's own retention periods (section 2.7).
  • Third-party tools (Google, Automattic, Cloudflare and the others in section 4): for each provider's own retention periods, as described in its policy.

In every case, you can ask for deletion before the end of the period, by emailing contato@raislife.com, except where the law allows us to keep the data, such as a legal obligation or proof of consent (LGPD, arts. 16 and 18, IV and VI).

6. Your rights

You may, at any time: confirm whether we process your data; access it; correct it; request the anonymization, blocking or deletion of unnecessary data; request portability; find out with whom we share it; withdraw your consent; and request the removal of a comment you posted. Simply write to contato@raislife.com. You can also file a complaint with Brazil’s National Data Protection Authority (ANPD).

7. Children and teenagers

The site is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy. The date at the top shows the version in effect.
