Frequently asked questions

What are SAC and Price?

With SAC (constant amortization), the portion of the balance you pay down each month is always the same, so the first installment is the largest and the following ones shrink. With the Price table, the installment is fixed in the simulation: it starts lower than SAC’s, but you pay more interest overall.

Which is better, SAC or Price?

It depends on your budget. SAC (constant amortization) costs less in total interest and the installment falls over time, but it requires a higher income at the start. Price (fixed installments) has a lower, predictable installment at first and costs more in the end. The calculator shows the two side by side for your numbers.

Does the SAC payment ever fall below the Price payment?

Yes. The calculator shows the installment at which the SAC payment drops below the fixed Price payment.

Does the calculation include the TR and insurance?

No. To compare the two systems only, the calculator uses the rate you enter, with no TR, insurance or fees. In the full simulator you can include insurance and the month’s TR.
