How to read this page
The rates are the closing rates published by Brazil's central bank, in reais per unit of currency (per 100 or per 1,000 units for those worth only a few cents, as indicated). The daily change compares with the previous business day's close; week, month and year are counted from the last close of the period that ended. On the chart, hover, tap or use the arrow keys to see the currency's value and the change for each bar. Weekends and holidays have no quote: the page shows the last business day and gives its date.

The figures from Brazil's central bank come from public sources and are reorganized by RaisLife (charts, changes and texts); the official data is what the source itself publishes. Exchange rates are the central bank's closing reference rates, in reais per unit of currency (per 100 or per 1,000 units where indicated), and do not include the spread, fees or IOF (Brazil's tax on foreign-exchange transactions) charged by banks and currency exchange offices; the changes (day, week, month, year and 12 months) are calculated by RaisLife. Values may be delayed and may differ from what banks, brokerages and currency exchange offices charge.
